sunbeam

PhotobucketPhotobucket

jace is now a sunbeam! after a month of ups and downs he now enjoys going to primary each week. he has learned how to stay in his seat, that there is a time for playing star wars and airplanes and a time for church, that you have to ask if you want to go get a drink of water and that he doesn't need jack (one of his best little buddies) to be happy in primary.

last week during testimony meeting he hopped off jared's lap and started heading to the aisle. after stopping him this was our conversation:

me: where are you going?
jace: to talk up there.
me: what are you going to say?
jace (in a "duh" tone of voice): the first article of faith.

he was pretty set on going up the whole time and was not very happy that i did not let him. his sunbeam teacher let him "bear his testimony" during his class which made him happy.

On fast Sunday, we had an influx of kids and youth get up and basically try to outdo one another and see what they could say for a laugh. It was really annoying. I say teach your kids what a testimony is and how to know when to share it and practice at home on FHE night. When you feel they are ready let them. I am glad he likes going now.

That is great! I love it! Alyssa bore her testimony this month after telling me she wasnt't going to. (a first) Then when it was nearly over, she hopped up and went up and bore her testimony. After that a young man from a semi-active family got up and just cried and said he told himself if another kid got up he would too, but he wouldn't be the first. You could tell it was really hard for him. They were the only two kids that week that bore their testimonies. I don't think she even realized what he said, but I think she was prompted to go up and followed that prompting.
