25 days 'till Christmas...
Ok, so it's like 17 days until Christmas now but I just finished our advent/countdown calendar. Better late than never right?
I got the idea from this blog. Each box has a Christmas activity in it like read a Christmas story, make Christmas cookies, take a drive to see the lights, etc.
We got a package in the mail with presents for Jace and an unexpected present for me and Jared. It took a lot of self-restraint (and I mean a lot because Jared wasn't home when I opened it) not to open the present, see what it was and then re-wrap so Jared wouldn't know I peeked. And Jared just told me about another present that we are getting from his work that I am going to love but he won't tell me what it is. I feel an anxiety attack coming on.
I hate waiting. But I will be strong this year and I won't peek and I will try to set a good example for Jace who by the way has not tried to open any of the presents under the tree. He looks at them and carries them around but doesn't open them because it's not Christmas yet. Maybe I can learn from his patience and self-control.

Way to go Jeannie. It looks great. I like the idea of doing things. We kind of did that with the ole paper chain, wrote service things we could do but I like the added things like read a Christmas story, see the lights, etc. Thanks for the idea.
If it makes you feel better, I hate surprises (especially when I know its coming just not what it is). I am a peeker. Always have been, I think I always will be.

Cute calendar. I have one similar that I wanted to make but didn't get around to it. Maybe next year.
P.S. I like your idea better. I might just have to do the boxes instead. :)
