party time. family time. christmas time.
This year we had our first annual Don W. Tubbs family christmas party!! That's right, annual, which means there are many more to come, so I hope everyone had a good time. Everyone in the family (except 4) showed up for the fiesta. And this is what we did...
Gingerbread houses
Each of the kids got to make their very own gingerbread house. There were some very creative ones including a skyscraper and a house that went through Hurrican Katrina.

Jace was so excited for the gingerbread train that Daddy made him. This week he decided to eat it and said "Mmmm, this is a good train!"
Mmmm...mmmm food!
Sweet pork salads/burritos, pumpkin roll, chocolate cake, cookies, Brazillian lemonade - can't get much better than that.

Jace was enjoying all the desserts his cousins kept giving him.
Hygiene kits
This year instead of exchanging gifts we did a family service project. Each of us provided supplies for Hygiene kits and we all got to put them together at the party.
A suprise visit
From good ol' Santa himself, along with Mrs. Clause. Everyone, and I mean everyone, got a chance to sit on Santa's lap and make a Christmas wish!

**I had everyone on the video but it only copied half...I'll try to figure it out but for now sorry to those that were cut out.
Jace got about 2 feet from Santa, said, "I just want a train" and then tried to take off. He knew he had to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas but he did not want to sit on his lap.
Christmas games for all ages
We played gift exchange game (with $1 gifts), a candy cane relay and a very hilarious game of unwrapping a gift. Seriously, if you ever have a Christmas party, this is the game to play. We had a present (a chocolate bar) wrapped in several layers and several boxes with duct tape that you had to unwrap while wearing a hat, scarf and oven mits before the next person rolled a 4. Definitely lots of fun and lots of laughs. A game that everyone could get into (and we have a wide range of ages).
Pinata!!
It wouldn't be a party with my family if we didn't have a pinata. Always lots of fun. Although next year I'm thinking that we need one for the adults too.

Just what he needs - more candy.
Thanks family for such a good time! It was great to be with everyone. Can't wait for the next party, you know, the family reunion that's gonna be killer (at least that's the way I imagine it).

Looks like you guys had a fun holiday. I especially loved the hygeine kit idea. How fun to do a service activity together as a family. I am definitely going to have to suggest that idea to my family.
The video of the pinata is hilarious!! Cutting it and putting it to music was so cute. Good job kids!!
Ginger
