transfer
one more post without pictures. we left the picture for this post sitting on the floor at the doctor's office.
the transfer went well yesterday. out of the 12 embryos that were biopsied we had 4 affected, 2 unreadable, 1 carrier, and 5 normal. the champ embryo was the carrier. we chose to put in the carrier and the next best (which also happened to be a female). both embryos looked really good and the doctor was very optimistic and excited about them. we froze the remaining embryos.
we chose the carrier because it was the best embryo, it will still be healthy and even though it's a pain who knows where the medical community will be in 20 years. we felt like it was the right decision for us this time.
so now i am lying on the couch until tomorrow. my back is already sore from staying in the same horizontal position. and because my ovaries are still oversized the doctor wants me to stay down as much as possible for the next couple of weeks. good thing i'm stocked with some good books to read.
we head in for our pregnancy test in 12 days. fingers crossed that all goes well. and if we are pregnant it's gonna be a girl! how many people get to know the gender of their baby before they know if they are pregnant?

that is so cool - Jace will have a little sister - good luck! Carrier of what? Let me know if there's anything I can do:)
Praying for you that all goes well and results are positive in twelve days. When Jace is 11 and his sister is 8 and he is tormenting her quietly (because he has learned to fein innocence) and she is screaming at him to "Stop it!" (because she can't fake anything) and you make them write 10 nice things about each other and it takes them 1 hour!!! to come up with that many....remember how happy you are right now. Good luck and I love you.
I've been gone and have missed so much. I hope all goes well! I'd love to help out. would Jace want to come and play? did book group go well. I enjoyed the book and was sad to miss it.
I'll pray for your pregnancy. How did you know that one of the unaffected was a female? They never told me what gender the unaffected embryo's were. Carriers are good people - you, me, our sisters, and Brighton is a carrier. I haven't had Hallie tested yet.
yo - carrier of hemophilia, meaning they can pass it on
jill - when they were telling us the strength of each embryo they told us the gender too. not sure why? they didn't tell us last time.
that's great jeannie, i've been wondering about ya'll and how getting pregnant was going, we wish ya'll the best and our prayers go out to you
