jace diaries
dear jace,
you have always loved taking your medicine (i.e. motrin for teeth or benadryl for allergies). whenever we mention the word medicine or you see it on the counter you get very excited and exclaim, "i need my medicine!"
every morning when i take my medicine you ask for some too and are often disappointed that you don't get any. so i have always been greatful that the bottles are child-proof - until today. we went to the park to have lunch and play. the blanket was all spread out, our lunch was ready to eat and you were so happy. i ran back to the car (a very short distance from the blanket) to grab our drinks and a book. when i returned you had my bottle of estrogen pills (they were in my purse), lid off, spread out on the blanket and blue (the pills are blue) around your lips and on your hands.
happily, you exclaimed, "i got medicine mom!" are you kidding me? what happened to the child-proof top? so we packed everything up and hopped in the car (in case we had to take you to the emergency room) while you cried because you hadn't even gone down the slide yet. we called poison control and they said that the levels in the pills are so low that the worst it could do was give you an upset stomach. so everything turned out okay, thankfully.
just a little scare to keep us on our toes. daddy was pretty stressed because he doesn't want anything to happen to you (and neither do i, i'm just a little calmer than dad). know that we are doing our very best at keeping you safe and healthy and happy.
love,
mom & dad

Scary! I am happy to hear that everything turned out okay! Miss you. Hope we see you soon.
Paden and Dillon were happily into the Tylenol once. Poison Control told us to take them to the ER (it only takes 1 1/2, if I remember right, to kill a toddler). Thankfully it tastes terrible. Most children--thankfully Paden and Dillon are part of that statistic--spit Tylenol right out cause it tastes nasty. I am glad he is ok. Boy they are fast aren't they?
